LIDS Documentation

About Our Lids

RJR has numerous tooled Ceramic or Plastic Lids that can be supplied to the customer without incurring unnecessary non-reocurring engineering (NRE) charges. We also can tool a custom solutions to meet the customer’s specific applications subject to an NRE charge . RJR can also accept Customer Furnished Material (CFM) to apply B-Stage epoxy solutions.

Glass lids are manufactured in our own facility from raw glass stock that meets the customer’s specifications. We generally stock Corning 0211, 1737 and Schaft D263 and cut it to the customer’s specifications. We also can supply AR and IR coated glass as well as handle all types of specialty products, like blue chrome glass or we will apply our material to CFM glass. To obtain our glass products at the most economic cost, RJR has developed a fully automatic glass demounting process, thereby being able to ship the glass on a ringframe rather than in a tray. This reduces the cost by eliminating non-value added labor (cost to put windows in trays) and it keeps the glass cleaner due to reduced handling.
